Ms. Kelly Te heads the natural gas and LNG marketing and trading activities, including investments into LNG processing, carbon offset, and LNG shipping partnerships for the company’s portfolio. Prior to GCT, Kelly served as the LNG consultant for Sumitomo Corporation, leading their gas marketing activities into China.
As a seasoned and versatile energy professional with over 15 years of international experience, Kelly has held various commercial roles in Market Development and Trading in the LNG and natural gas industry, working across Asia, Oceania and the United States.
Kelly was with NextDecade, where she was instrumental in structuring innovative pricing models and executed the first-ever binding 20-year Brent- indexed LNG sales contract out of United States with Shell North America.
At Shell, Kelly was responsible for identifying new market access and business development activities, including gas and power trading opportunities in Asia. In 2017 and 2018, she played a pivotal role in the setup and success of the new power trading desk for Shell in Japan when the electricity market underwent reform and liberalization.
Kelly also led regional gas marketing teams on new customer acquisition strategies and midstream market access investment opportunities for Shell in Southeast Asia. During her early career with InterOil (NYSE: IOC, 2010-2013), Kelly executed long-term LNG sale and purchase agreements and co-led the commercial team on a US$5B integrated gas to LNG project in the Gulf for the Papua New Guinea Government, which was eventually bought over by ExxonMobil.
